Field Officer

Main Role

To drive sales of the Society’s financial services products. The role will largely involve working in London police venues (Met/City/BTP police services), as well as other constabularies, for three or four days a week with the rest of the time spent working from home and where needed Metfriendly head office.


General sales duties

To be responsible for selling the financial services products of the Society.

To promote a positive image of the Metropolitan Police Friendly Society (Metfriendly) within the Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police Service and other constabularies.

To record results achieved such as product sales, new contacts and enquiries.

Field presence

To design, set up and fulfil an engaging and mobile branded stand presence in Met and City Police venues throughout Greater London and further afield.

To promote and provide one-to-one financial awareness surgeries at police venues and at customers’ home addresses.

Training talks

To support, present and where appropriate organise police training day events, police staff seminars, and Metfriendly’s own seminars, teaching money management skills and selling the Society’s products.

To support and deliver regular introductory talks about the Society at the Hendon Regional Learning Centre and other venues as appropriate.

Relationship management

To develop good working relationships with key Officers and Staff of the Metropolitan, City and other police services leading to opportunities to present the Society’s products.

To develop, maintain and demonstrate a good working relationship with the Police Federation, Superintendents’ Association, ACPO, Trades Unions and other Staff Associations representatives within London and to promote the Society to those groups.


Brochure distribution and display maintenance.

To provide ideas for more sales opportunities for the Society’s products.

Any other duties as required by the Sales & Marketing Director or Field Manager.

The salary will be £30,000 – £32,000 with an opportunity to earn an additional bonus of up to £6,000pa.
