Police Officer Career Change
Now you have been called for interview!
Since most of us do not have to be interviewed regularly we can all feel a little anxious at this point – and no, you are not just supposed to ‘know’ how to do all this it is right and normal to feel a little out of your depth. For a police officer career change, it is true to say, that an interview in the private sector will be very different to those you attended in your policing career.
Now you have the chance to present your best self, and with the competition being so fierce for most jobs this is no time to take a chance. You need to make sure you are in the best position to stand out against the competition
- You know you will be an ideal fit for the post
- You have the right qualifications
- You like the sound of the company
- You are ready to take on a new challenge
And yet, when you walk into that interview you
- Feel like you are walking in as someone even you don’t recognise
- Anxiety stops you from giving a good account of yourself
- Fear you are sending the wrong message to the interviewer and are confused how to get the right message across
We work with you to present a convincing case to any panel so that you have the best chance to capture the position you are qualified for. With many years of coaching people to successful outcomes, we will show you how to enhance what is working for you and coach you to address what is not working to your advantage.
After you have worked with us will have;
- You will know how to walk into any room with confidence and engage your interviewer
- Understand the best preparation skills to perform with style
- Get any nervous energy working for you rather than against you
- Understand how your body language plays an essential part in success
We charge £125 per hour for interview preparation which is conducted over Skype. If you would like to work in person this would need to be a minimum of a two hour session.
What People Are Saying
“I used Angela Hackett on two occasions to provide me with Personal Development training. The first occasion was to prepare myself for a promotion opportunity and on the second occasion was to prepare myself as I applied for a new job. She has always provided just what I required in a timely and responsive way and I have recommended her to others.”
“I asked Angela for support at a time of need and she was very helpful and quick to assist. Thank you again Angela.”
“Angela is an inspiration. All you have to do is listen and follow her guidance… brilliant! I can highly recommend Angela. She knows her stuff. I’ve never not had at least an interview”
“I just wanted to post to say thank you to Angela Hackett for the amazing support she has given me in moving from the police into the private sector. Like all of you I am sure it was a hard decision but one that I think is definitely the right one. I start in my new role as head of UK security (physical) shortly and wanted to say to everyone that please don’t undersell yourself! There is some amazing jobs out there and amazing people who will help support people looming to change, I had some great help from people who had made the change previously. Yes there will be things I miss from the police and I never hated my job but feel I have found a role which balances my passion for keeping people safe against my home life and career aspirations. If I could give one piece of advice, please don’t think you are not good enough, we have so many transferable skills and Angela will help you realise what they are.”
